It is a most beautiful small island in the Indian ocean. But nowadays people in Sri Lanka are suffering in an economic crisis which they never faced in the past. Cricket, is the only thing can give some small smile for them. LPL 2022, the another chapter of local premier league is ready to take place from 31 July to 21 August 2022.
LPL 2020 & LPL 2021 have won by the Jaffna team, under
the Thisara Perera’s captaincy. Both time runner-up was Galle team under
Bhanuka Rajapakshe’s captaincy.
LPL 2022, shall we find out the new teams and their
background.

batsman will play in Jaffna. Gurbaz had good LPL history and Sadeera was very impressive
in the past domestic sessions. Lewis and DDS will show their international colors. Apart
from above Ashan Randika also can prove himself in this semi international
arena and South African wicket keeper batsman Hardus Vijoen can challenge to
his spot with Gurbaz.

Four main
bowlers including two fast bowlers and three spinners will represent Jaffna family. CSK and
new TKR boy, Theekshana will lead the spinning department and exciting two tall
fast bowler Binura and Pakistan latest finding Dahani will join with him.
Weaknesses
There is no big
hitting local player with subcontinent experiences in first four. Many all-rounders want to do the batter roll.

two times LPL champions and 2011 T20 WC winner, Thisara and one of the most experience
current cricketer, Malik will provide their generous support to Jaffna Kings to
get their 3rd consecutive LPL title.

Asif will have to displays their international comeback. Little

Vandersay have to play big role in the bowling unit. Vandersay in good form and
Naveen already played the all LPL series. Colombo have decent five part-time
bowlers can manage the 5-10 overs in middle of the game. Other than above

will be asset to use.
Weaknesses
In experience
bowling unit is the main weakness with Colombo. There are no big names in
bowling unit. Middle order batsman, Chandimal and Mathews not in the good form in
T20 format and they will take time to adjust.

Mathews has
ample experiences than other all captains in LPL. His team management and
situation handling will huge advantage. Asalanka’s in his peak in last international appearances. Hence other batsman can play around him Colombo can do some memorable cricket.

session. Also Lamichchane and Ben will be given that their international
